What It Was Like

Burning Tree Ranch Alumnus

“Before arriving at Burning Tree I had completely given up on myself and the possibility of real recovery. I was addicted to drugs and alcohol, alienated from my family, and destroying the lives of those around me.”

The Cycle of Addiction

The cycle that Marlena talks about is common in chronic relapsers. They cannot stay sober and the revolving door of a treatment center becomes normal.

With each new treatment center, families are hopeful that this time their son or daughter will get sober. Often after a 30-day treatment center, the chronic relapser goes back out and uses.

We believe that alcoholics and addicts suffer from a three-fold disease of the mind, body, and spirit. It takes a dual diagnosis approach to heal the underlying mental issues and to learn to use tools to recover from substance use disorder.
