Burning Tree West Program Overview

Burning Tree West believes that a sober life is the key to fulfillment and success. The young men and women in our care are given the opportunity to rediscover themselves independent of substance abuse and realize their full potential in life. We apply the fundamentals of the 12-step program along with mental health therapy, therapeutic experiences and psychoeducation to give each participant the skills, strength and knowledge they need to get and stay sober.

  • Each resident is individually coached by the members of our trained and experienced staff. Our curriculum is specifically designed to ensure sustained sobriety, accountability and a strong work ethic. We focus on:
  • Recovery
  • Life Skills
  • School/Work
  • Family and Personal Relationships
  • Wellness (Spiritual, Physical and Mental)

Flexible Outpatient Treatment

We specialize in providing the care needed after treatment. We offer sober living in Tucson and an extended care program. Participants live at home or in a sober living house and attend regular sessions at our Tucson treatment center and in the community.

  • Burning Tree West clients participate in on-site programming according to the following schedules:
  • Partial Hospitalization: 6 weeks, 6 hours per day, 5 days per week
  • Intensive Outpatient: 6 weeks, 3 hours per day, 4 days per week
  • Aftercare: 90 days to 12 months, schedule based on client needs and progress
  • Family Program: 2 days per month
  • Clients also participate in local 12-step meetings and engage in other sober activities that take advantage of Tucson’s beautiful landscape, rich cultural history and breadth of recreational options.

Sober Living Community

Burning Tree West maintains a residential home in Tucson that can house up to 16 individuals in need of a sober living environment. Here, we foster a strong sense of community and support, as residents form close bonds with one another and discover how sober friendships make a difference in long-lasting recovery. We also encourage accountability and independence: residents maintain their own space and belongings, are expected to contribute to household upkeep and have the freedom to attend to daily responsibilities outside of the house.

Dual Diagnosis

Burning Tree provides addiction treatment that focuses on the whole person — mind, body and spirit. We know that addiction is frequently not the only concern that our clients will have; co-occurring or dual diagnoses affect nearly half of adults who struggle with substance abuse. Mental health disorders such as anxiety, depression, personality disorders and PTSD commonly accompany addiction, and require equal attention in order for an individual to achieve sustainable recovery. We provide specialty mental health care alongside our addiction treatment programs for dual diagnosis patients.

Community Resources

We have strong working relationships with trusted local providers for other levels of addiction care, including detox and residential programs. Potential patients or family members are encouraged to reach out to us for an evaluation — our professional staff can speak with you and help you learn more about your treatment options in the Tucson area. We can connect you with the level of care that is most appropriate for you at this time.
