Burning Tree Ranch Program Overview

In many cases of addiction, particularly for those who experience chronic relapse, entering a long-term treatment program is the best way to ensure lasting recovery. Studies show that the longer an individual has structured support in recovery, the better their outcomes, and the lower their risk of relapse. In addition, long-term treatment allows providers to focus more intently on every issue surrounding addiction — such as each client’s upbringing, experiences, reasons for initiating substance abuse or co-occurring mental health concerns. From detoxification to reintegration into mainstream society, long-term treatment takes its time at each step of the recovery process and ensures that participants never have to feel confused or unprepared in sobriety.

Structured, Long-Term Treatment

Long-term treatment programs typically last a minimum of six months to a year. Some long-term programs are open-ended in length, depending on the severity of the client’s addiction. The main residential program at Burning Tree Ranch typically lasts 8 to 14 months for residential treatment.

  • The program at Burning Tree Ranch includes:
  • 24-hour care and behavior monitoring
  • Full participation in the recovery process by the staff of the facility
  • Programs tailored to individual needs and conditions
  • Access to multiple treatment methodologies
  • Diagnosis and treatment of co-occurring disorders
  • Inclusion of loved ones through specialized family programming

The carefully structured programs help clients recognize and change their ingrained beliefs regarding addiction and its consequences. They also introduce new patterns of behavior to replace those that have facilitated addiction.

Post-Treatment Care and Resources

After completion of long-term residential treatment, post-treatment care and services is provided to ensure that recovery continues to progress. At Burning Tree Ranch, this can include 12 months of aftercare or extended care programming.

  • Post-treatment focuses on relapse prevention and includes:
  • Sponsors
  • Ongoing individual and group therapy sessions
  • Community-based support groups
  • 12-Step participation

Family Program

The effects of addiction ripple outward from the addicted individual, influencing the lives of their family members and close friends in particular. Since the family — both biological and chosen family members — often serves as an individual’s strongest and most present support system in recovery, it is essential that family members understand the recovery process and experience healing of their own. Burning Tree Ranch provides a family program that meets five times per month in order to assist all who are affected by addiction. The ability of family members to actively participate and assist in the recovery process is both vital and proven to contribute to success.

Dual Diagnosis

Approximately 45% of adults who struggle with substance abuse also have a co-occurring mental health disorder. In the presence of such a dual diagnosis, it is essential to treat both the addiction and the mental health concern simultaneously — otherwise, remaining symptoms can trigger a relapse in the client’s future. Burning Tree Ranch offers accompanying care for mental health disorders including anxiety, depression, personality disorders, PTSD and more.
