$1,000 Academic Scholarship for College Students
Burning Tree presents an annual $1,000 college scholarship to deserving college and university students and is currently accepting applicants for the Winter 2017 scholarship award.
The funds are paid twice at the beginning of each semester.
How to Apply
Eligible students will write a reflective essay between 500 and 750 words about a specific moment that influenced their decision to pursue university-level studies, whether it be a experience, conversation, documentary, or even a societal observation. Competitive candidates will submit an essay and cite at least two pieces of academic content that bolster or relate to their perspective. Essays must be submitted in Word or PDF format.
- Scanned copy of current student ID
- Current (within 60 days of submission) verification of full-time (12+ credits) enrollment at any 4 year college or university
- Essay in Word or PDF format

Who Can Apply?
Any current, full-time student enrolled in an accredited university or college in the United States, with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. There is no age requirement for scholarship applicants and incoming freshmen are encouraged to apply.
When Is The Deadline?
Burning Tree is now accepting applications and nominations for our Winter 2016 scholarship. All entries must be submitted by December 1, 2016 at midnight. The winning applicant will be selected and announced on December 15, 2016. Submit your completed application via email to email@example.com. Incomplete applications with not be considered.
Do I Have To Currently Be Enrolled To Apply?
Candidate must provide proof of enrollment for each semester spanning the length of scholarship (i.e both 2016 semesters). The scholarship will be sent directly to the financial aid office of the winning student’s institution. The scholarship funds may be used during anytime of the school the year. The winning $1,000 scholarship can only be used towards tuition or books at an accredited college or university.
